Sum Insured was established in 2001 to provide marketing services to retailers in the form of mystery shoppers.
As a supplementary service, we began collating information on the replacement prices of a variety of home products. Over time, this research lead to the formation of a comprehensive replacement cost database of home and commercial contents items which proved to fill a specific need in the property insurance segment.
We have invested heavily in building smart models which use data from a wide variety of sources, including our own in depth research, to accurately provide replacement costs for any property in Australia (since 2005) and New Zealand (since 2012).
Today, insurers and brokers of all sizes use our advanced models to help streamline processes either through the stand alone web calculators or increasingly, directly into their own systems via our lightning quick API.
In 2024 Sum Insured was acquired by the Land Services Group, who’s expertise in data management and software engineering enables us to accelerate growth through a wider suite of proprietary services.
We continue to operate out of our offices in St. Leonards, Sydney and are grateful for the strong relationships we enjoy with our loyal partners.
